Take what the defense gives you--sure. I'm down with that. I love hearing the stat about 9, 10, 11 dudes touched the ball; we used to hear that all the time (often but not always in blowouts though).
But I've also watched my share of games where a particular player is torching the opposition, and an offense keeps going to him until the D has to adjust and proves that it can actually slow him down.
Hearing the announcers observe that we seem to have reached the point where we can dial up Chase Roberts whenever we want in game 1 was music to my ears. Anae was famous for NOT scheming the Collie's open (just ask them); fortunately, their QBs were adept enough to see the obvious in terms of what they had in Austin and went to him anyway.
I've never been a D-1 OC or anything near it. But if I'm Arod, who appears to be sitting squarely on the hot seat, I'm going to go down swinging or save my hyde, whichever it proves to be, by betting on my best players.
