To be honest the Lightyear one is blown way out of proportion.
I'm not saying I was happy with what they did but contextually it is tasteful and barely noticeable. In fact I took it as a great jumping point to discuss the same sex topic with my 8 year old. I believe strongly that my kids should be discussing the complicated and diverse topics of life from me and not from other sources.

In essence Lightyear has a flight companion who he leaves behind trying to take on a task that requires him to travel the speed of light a bunch of times back to back. Every time he comes back from a short speed of light travel she has aged a little more and progressed in living her life while he is gone. Its a montage of scenes so they barely speak but first he sees her, than she opens the door and shes engaged and there is a woman inside, than a woman and a little kiddo, than a woman and a child, than a graduating teen and the spouses give each other a peck.

Not a fan because it was clearly put in there to push the issue but way less triggering that I thought it was going to be. The bigger issue is the movie was just poorly done. Not a fan. I'm tired of movies being made to push an agenda rather than to tell a story, regardless of whether I am on the side of the agenda or not. Stop teaching me and start entertaining me.
