My uncle was a Bombardier in one. Flew missions over Sicily and Italy iirc. Flew from north Africa. The most
important event of the year for him was B17 crew reunions. His bond with those guys was super-tight, Had a pencil mustache. He was a talented fly fisherman and my Dad's best friend. I miss both of them.
