gabbing, Mel’s sister was Colleen Hutchins. Mel played on the Knick with a player named Earnie Vandewege who he introduced to Colleen. She was also Miss America. She and Earnie married. Their son was Kiki Vandewege. Earnie Vandewege also joined the Church later in his life..
