Both converted to the Church in South Korea, came to BYU, met there, married, and now have six kids. All living happily in red state America.

I suspect they are an example of an issue at play there in that the people most inclined to have families go do it somewhere else, not in a place that lacks the culture and infrastructure for it. So countries can hit kind of a downward spiral.
