It seems like a fine way to go for those that don't mind crowds and just want to sit back and relax with very little planning. I think that encompasses a lot of people and I might become one of them when I reach old age.

Cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord to the Sawyer glacier, 2 kayakers could be seen that had set up camp on a cliff edge and were cooking breakfast over a fire as we went past. I was extremely jealous of the adventure they were having. A few people around us on deck commented about how miserable they must be and how glad they were to be on a cruise ship. Thats when I first realized I am not a cruise person.
