was doing things behind the scenes to limit their reach and the reach of many others. From my understanding there was a lot of shadow banning going on as well.

I don't think that it is a stretch to believe that conservative voices on Twitter were being treated unfairly via various means and then Musk comes in and gets rid of a lot of the moderators.
