Food for the general cruising population has gone downhill. It's made for the most sensitive pallets with no salt, sugar
fat, etc. and is upper end buffet quality at best. That is the bad part about so many people cruising now.
If you want the GOOD cruise food now you have to buy the upgraded restaurant package or cruise on lines that focus on dining (Oceania, etc.). On our last cruise we ended up eating most of our meals at the NY style pizza place next to the pool. It was far better than the big buffet meals and included in our package.
