Interesting to consider which would be preferred
Obviously football is the bigger media sport, bigger money, and it gets you into the more exclusive CFP
Basketball doesn't have any of those advantages... but it's also the Big 12, which is basically the equivalent of SEC football. Clearly the best and definitely the deepest. Is that enough to make up for the difference in value between football and basketball?
