nails! Threw a bunch of long bombs, right in the basket, built a 24-6 lead (with good running game from Robbins), and then when the defense let OSU March down the field twice in the 4th Q to erase the BYU lead and take a 27-24 lead themselves, Retzlaff was again money, with 56 seconds on the clock, hitting WR's all the way down the field to get in FG range and tie it. Then, in OT, he was money again, with great passes, and a great TD run, and he was driving again down 6 in the second OT for the win, until Rex fumbled the ball on the 10 yard line - game over.
I think people remember the Oklahoma huge mistake by Reztlaff at the end, that lost the game, and they also attribute the OSU loss to Retzlaff, also because it was another bonehead play that resulted in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. But it was not Retzlaff's fault, it was Rex's that time. The reality is that Reztlaff made BYU competitive in both those games, one on the road, and both against really good teams. And he did it with his arm and his legs, as well as his ability to see the field. And as far as the OU bonehead play, pretty much every first time QB starter in college football has one of those - this one was just really painful.
NO one should be dissing on Retzlaff (or Bohanon, who led a team to the B12 championship). They deserve more of a chance to show their stuff than being dissed by CB know-it-all small-sample-size generals who are pretend experts.
