Reality: LaVell succeeded in the WAC/MWC because he was ahead of the game. Bama,
Michigan, ND, Texas, etc., primarily recuited fullbacks, tailbacks, halfbacks, QBs who could hand off and run, linemen who could open up holes, big WRs who could block downfield, and big DBs who could tackle downfield. LaVell then could focus on QBs who could pass, linemen who could drop back and create a pocket, lankier and faster WRs who could get open downfield and catch the ball against bigger and slower DBs, and runningbacks who could also catch the ball and run to keep defenses honest.

Everyone saw the brilliance that was LaVell. The game caught up.

Bronco is the second winningest coach at BYU and way too many fans wanted him gone. For some reason many fans still bag on him.

Sitake leads a program in a conference that is leagues above the WAC and MWC and all programs now seek the same talent he seeks. He competes against Michigan, OSU, Bama, Georgia, Kansas, Clemson, Cincinnati, OSU, etc., for QBs, WRs, RBs who catch the ball downfield and can run, linemen, etc.

This is BYU's second season in the B12. SECOND. For the first few years the U was in the P12 a loud chorus of fans wanted Whitt gone. I actually told my U friends who wanted him gone that they were stupid, he was a great coach. Wish I'd kept my mouth shut.

Maybe the answer is to run the wishbone.
