In Zach's 1st season:
- First time HC who’s a former DC (Robert Salah)
- First time OC with dubious schemes that were criticized by multiple independent sources (Matt LaFleur)
- Veteran QB coach died before season started (Greg Knapp) and inexplicably wasn’t replaced until the next season
- No veteran QB for practical mentoring
- Thrust into the starting role immediately without really having time to acclimate to the speed of the NFL or grow into the position (ala Jordan Love or a young Aaron Rodgers)
- No blue-chip players on the offensive line or at the skill positions

In Zach's next 2 seasons:
- Very few difference-makers on offense (Breece Hall and Garret Wilson are above average, but neither are true blue-chip guys; have the Jets had even 1 Pro-Bowl caliber offensive player during Zach's tenure, either on the line or at the skill positions?)
- First-time QB coach still in his early 30s (Rob Calabrese)
- An OC for the 3rd season who has a terrible track record when he doesn't have Aaron Rodgers QBing for him (Nathaniel Hackett)

Finally, you have the coaches privately whining about Zach constantly to the media this whole time just to beat Zach down publicly, something Aaron Rodgers (a diva in his own right) immediately called out when he arrived in New York.

Unless you're a generational QB talent, whether or not a QB succeeds in the NFL mostly comes down to the situation around him (see really good analysis video on QB development below). It's pretty obvious the Jets did just about everything you SHOULDN'T do to develop a young QB.
