He was hamstrung with a low coaching budget
And now has access to P4 money where all the coaches can carry their own weight. He also has access to better recruits now. The program peaked with his own recruits in 2020-21. The dip in 2023 was mostly due to competition level and having a dud coach on staff. Talent and depth are both trending in the right direction. He’s better at roster balance, talent identification, and getting players drafted than his predecessor
