This is the way the game was played before the idea that you intentionally foul

the opponent at the end to get the clock to stop and hope they miss free throws. All of that is boring basketball. If you want to win, play good defense, rebound the ball, and make shots. And do it all game rather than a rush of fouling and desperation at the end.
