With bench seating, people up top fill in the unsold seats to give themselves more room. I was on BYU's website
before the game. No way they really sold all of those tickets to fans.
It's possible that what happened is that a donor bought the remaining seats so we could call it a sell out (this is normal industry behavior so I don't begrudge BYU for doing it too)... I just wish we'd filled those seats with real fans.

I agree with this general economic principle... but... I don't understand why they are asking $60/seat for the top rows
