to make hard decisions which includes firing position coaches when their position groups are underperforming. We all agree that the OL was badly underperforming and therefore Funk had to go. We don’t know what was happening behind the scenes but it is pretty clear that the TE has been underperforming for a while as well and a shakeup was needed. It may also be that Kalani is looking to hire someone to take over the OL and TE group, and then use the extra spot to finally bring in a full time QB coach. This is badly needed in my opinion. It might even be that ARod will be demoted to QB coach and Kalani is looking to bring in a new OC. That would be a very smart move if we could pay up and bring in someone with successful P5 OC experience.
