The reality is that Utah has already gotten commits from S Jeilani Davis (87.86), S Davis Andrews (87.97) and is warm (though I doubt they get him) on S Jason Micthell (90.08)
That doesn't mean they don't want S Faletau Satuala (89.43)... but it does mean they are well-stocked at the position (plus the two deep at the position is all young). Which means two things
1. It's a tougher path to playing time at the position at Utah. Whereas BYU clearly has a need there
2. Utah might think they have him locked up and focus on other areas where they don't have as much depth
I think those two factors open the door for BYU to steal him away from Utah, who would be the natural favorite (given his family and fanhood).
