College football exists because of the fans. They pay tickets, donate to the
school's athletic program and booster organization. They have a vested interest in the success of the program. So yes, they will have an opinion that matters.
A business reports to its shareholders and employees. So if it is a public company and a division president is performing poorly, then yes you can call for his job publicly.
