We have 3rd stringers playing in the secondary, they aren’t exactly world beaters, but they are holding their own and executing their responsibilities. I cannot say that a single one of them has lacked effort, they’re clearly giving their all.

As for Etienne, he’s just played downright bad. Our eyes aren’t deceiving us, even his PFF grade is putrid, it’s well below average. He’s not playing well enough to justify starting. He’s not good in either the run or passing game.

None of us are coaches, but it’s easy to see the lack of effort when he quickly disengages after initial contact. We’ve also witnessed him just let a defender go right by him. The latter is probably due to not understanding who he’s supposed to get, either way it’s not good.
