Paris has obviously the most things to do, and can visit for multiple days
Musée D’Orsay was my favorite thing in Paris tied with Saint Chappelle which is a little under rated but I think the best church in Paris. Loved Normandy.

But we absolutely loved Belgium. We hit Brussels, Dinant and Bruges in 2.5 days, spending the most time in Bruges. The grand place in Brussels is one of the most beautiful squares you will ever see.

Dinant is breathtaking but has a super sad story having been sacked so many times by Louie the 16th, and Germany in WW1 and WW2. The citadel/fort on top of the hill there was amazing, and dated back over 1000 years.

But my favorite was probably Bruges, so cool with the canals and endless chocolate shops…and such interesting history. It’s one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe, because the German general in command of the era refused to Bomb the city, because he loved it so much. So the architecture dates back as much as a 1000 years and lots of buildings from the 13th and 14th centuries. There are two great must see churches in Bruges. The Basilica of the holy blood, which contains this big ornate vile that supposedly contains Jesus’s blood. While it’s obviously not, people have believed it for over 700 years. And there is a big celebration of the city every single year. Second is the church of our lady which houses Michelangelos madonna and child. the only Michelangelo to leave Italy during his lifetime.
