I hear you. And I have coached many many of those teams. I will say,
there is a way to reach almost every one of those kids. It takes a lot of energy and creativity, and sometimes a certain coaching personality.
You just have to decide if you want to put in that level of effort as a coach. It can be done, but it can be a huge challenge, as you say.
