Fans really should avoid criticism, speculation, rumor mongering, etc. etc. In some regards you have to assume, though not rationalize, that fans will be fans, but it's pretty shameful that people that hold positions such as reporters and talk show hosts fanned the flames of it, without any sort of evidence that it could be true.
