The more possessions, the more likely the better team will win.
And you look specifically at the Coastal Carolina game. Twice we "had a possession" but they were around 30 seconds before the half, and then less than a minute before the end of the game.
Also, it felt like it took the defense a while to adjust to Coastal Carolina but was finally getting it in the 4th quarter. If the game was longer, we win it, but it was shortened, and there were two drives where BYU really did not get enough time (and likely would had scored on both those drives if there was more time).
Also, we had gone a month since playing a real team. The offense needed more time to shake off the rust and all these long periods between possessions just really make it hard for the offense to get in sync again.
