We would have had a win over stinking Alabama if Ronnie could have played that game
Magically, mystically the team buses the Alabama athletic department arranged for us for the drive from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa had their air conditioning go out on an extremely hot and humid day, so many of our players were dehydrated going into the game. You could see IV drips along the BYU sideline. Ronnie had severe cramping and could never get going or playing at all. We were a little out-manned with Reno Mahe at RB vs Shaun Alexander for the Tide. Lesson learned, don't trust an SEC team for arranging travel or accommodations!
Back to personal experience, we hosted several clients to the game and had a large tailgate (you could actually park cars under the trees on campus). We catered large BBQ meal, which was delicious, but the air was stagnant and no breeze along with being so muggy. I downed too much lemonade along with the food and then was in the end zone that started being in the sun. Miserable.
Our guys were out-manned physically but played their hearts out....at least those who got to play and weren't cramping!
