And because they enjoyed him as an analyst, people speculate because they want to know WHY someone they enjoyed listening to is suddenly gone, if it's true. They also speculate because the powers-that-be are not forthcoming as to the reasons WHY, which usually means they a hard time justifying or defending the reasons WHY, and they don't like to be questioned. It is a cultural thing, as is expulsion (or firing) and excommunication for those that question.
