the team should have a say/vote and then if they want him back the kid should...
...apologize to his teammates, thank them for the 2nd chance and then make assurances he will work harder to earn their trust. Ultimately he's accountable to them as much as he is to the coach. This strengthens the coach's relationship with the rest of the team and with the offending player
