Comparing the MWC to the AAC, the MWC is full of teams nobody cares about, in markets/destinations people care even less about. The AAC has had several teams make some pretty solid runs over the past few seasons - Houston, Navy, UCF - making the recent tradition and strength of the conference much stronger from top to bottom. Also, there is a greater chance that the AAC's next tv deal will be far superior to the MWC, further distancing themselves from the G4, essentially placing them in the "P6" category.
If you don't like Independence, that's fine. It is starting to weigh on fans, and it has taken its toll on the program to a degree. But advocating for BYU to join the MWC is silly, and joining that conference would be the final chapter in the BYU Football book.
