in 1951. Back then the NIT was a more prestigious tournament than the NCAA. I know it’s a long time ago, but that was a big deal.

I can name three without thinking that were bigger: Gonzaga in Sweet 16, Notre Dame in Sweet 16, #4 SDSU 2011.
