And that's coming from a UVU grad who loves his school. Many of kids at UVU wanted to go to BYU (including myself) but were rejected for one reason or another. UVU students often feel like they are looked down upon by most people in Utah Valley and BYU students as being inferior. Frequently people will refer to it as "just UVU".
To finally (and yes, FINALLY) beat BYU in something that really matters is a big deal to us. I love BYU basketball, but to me that game was kind of fun. BYU will CRUSH UVU next year, and maybe UVU will win an occasional game once a decade at best. For those of you who have older siblings who you would compete with for years and FINALLY get a win over them in something, did you not feel like you conquered the world when it happened?
But let us/them have their moment. It won't last forever.
