Here's a chart on people per acre in NYC. Manhattan is 102/acre and overall we're at 42 (just as your

calculations show).

Note that Columbia University has 28,000 students on 32 acres....or 875 students per acre. We're expanding the campus now to get that number down.... but it will still be pretty high. Still though... I never felt like it was too crowded.
