though. The argument is whether or not a 30+ year old NC, a Heisman and 3 total top 10 finishes are significantly better and substantively more dominant than Utah's accomplishments. It's hard to make that argument. I'd favor BYU's success slightly but the recency of Utah's success is very relevant.
When you factor in Utah's basketball success (since this discussion has all been about basketball), it tips the scales. THats why, even in a bball related discussion like this, BYU fans ignore Utah bball - or pretend it was so long ago that no one cares (while clinging to 80s success in football.)
That may be subjective, but the core argument that BYU is a national, prestigious brand like USC, ND, Alabama, and Utah is a lower tier is silly. We're both in the same tier. Comparable. Both fantastic over achievers.
