Given that Coach Koward is such a complete hypocrite (see his college and pro playing record for fights and cheap shots) and a monkey boy for Chris Hill, I would challenge Coach Koward to and the player that Emery hit to take a lie detector test and to be under oath with rigorous cross examination. I doubt that either coach Koward or the U of U player in question would take this challenge even if there was a million dollar donation to the charity of their choice, but this scenario gets to the core issues that Ute fans refuse to even consider.
1. Did you swipe/scratch/claw Emery's face/neck prior to him striking you Y or N? Did you ever hit him during the course of the game in question-Y or N?
2. Did the "punch" hit you in the face Y or N? Did the punch hit you in the body Y or N?
3. Did you flop to exaggerate what took place Y or N? Did you lie about the punch incident including faking that it landed somewhere other than where it actually landed?
4. What did you say to Emory during the game and just prior to and after the punching incident. Was it free from profanity and taunting Y or N?
5. Did you tell your coach and all other parties the exact truth about what Emery said to you just prior to, during and after the so called punch Y or N?
5. Coach Koward, did you actually hear what Emory said Y or N?
6. Coach Koward, did you have to be restrained by your own staff/team after the alleged punch incident Y or N? Did you call BYU collectively or a the BYU player you had to be restrained from derogatory names and make religious insults? Was your conduct becoming of a D1 coach and representing the standards of sportsmanship that Chris Hill wants you to maintain Y or N
7. Coach Koward/Ute player did you embellish what Emery actually said to stir up drama or slander a BYU player for your own gain/designs?
8. Coach Koward, have you and Chris Hill discussed ways to get out of the series with BYU prioro to the punch incident or due to any degree of concern that you will get beat in basketball next year should you play BYU at the Marriott Center Y or N?
9. Chris Hill, since you have been the AD at the U have the Utes ever played dirty and taken cheap shots when playing BYU Y or N?
Now before you accuse me of saying something that I am not saying, let me make it clear--even if someone is taunting you and gets up your nose, you do not retaliate and you take the high road and hope that the ref calls it. I am NOT EXCUSING EMERY. But I do think the whole incident has been embellished and distorted to suit a dishonest agenda, and if Emery told me (I am coach Rose in this instance) that the other player raked his face in an attempt to scratch or hit him in the face with a forearm or that he actually hit the Ute player in the chest I would view the punch incident differently regardless of what the Ute fans think I should or what Coach Koward thinks I should.
I have watched BYU play the U of U for close to 40 years and I have seen the U of U take plenty of cheap shots and that includes the recent incident of the U of U player flopping and then kicking the BYU player in the family jewels. Lets talk about the U or U player who tried to take Denney's head off while he was being held down on the ground by said Ute player? Did BYU say-the U of U plays dirty and we need to cancel the football games-No. Did a Ute coach ever suspend said Ute player to maintain good sportsmanship and accountability-NO Did BYU say hey your player took a cheap shot on Ryan Hancock and ended his playing career football wise and so we are going to cancel the series out of a concern for our players safety? No
The U of U has absolutely no room to accuse any team of being a dirty team or a team that has a pattern of playing dirty. To do so represents the epitome of self righteous flagrantly dishonest hypocrisy. I say to the U of U-first remove the dirty playing from your own teams and take responsibility for your substantial history of dirty play and cheap shots before you point out the dirty play of others on a national stage and in the national media
Chris Hill is a bigot and a liar and Coach Koward is his spineless monkey boy who has a very long and full history of bringing violence to the game of basketball including cheap shots, fights and dirty play. Coach Koward is not someone to preach about dirty play
