It was a major hassle. There was a big traffic incident about 2 hours away from Seattle that cost a lot of time. On my way back to Seattle from Victoria, I actually missed the plane because the ferry/customs/traffic/TSA were all slow. Next time I will just pay more airfare and fly direct.

I loved Vancouver. It's one of my favorite cities in the world. I can't wait to go back in a few years.

We also drove and took the ferry from Vancouver to Victoria for a few days. Butchart Gardens is another of my favorite places. I created about 10 categories of plants/flowers for a photo contest with my teenage kids so they stayed involved the whole Butchart Gardens trip taking pictures.

Other than missing the plane ride home and one morning of a teenager meltdown, it was a fabulous trip. It was funny sitting in the Seattle airport food court where there is a piano for people to play. I heard "Book of Mormon Stories" and turned to see a small boy pounding out that song for everyone to hear.

By the way, Alaska Airlines is my new favorite airline.
