I second the Epson recommendation
I got this Epson a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier. Plus, it's a few hundred cheaper than when I got it.

Throw in a couple hundred for a receiver and a few hundred for some good surround-sound, and you're still cheaper than a quality 60" TV.
