My dad's 90 years old. A good guy still pretty much still fully with it.. But obviously in one's old age they can become susceptible to predatory advertising. If you don't know, on a lot of these conservative talk shows they now advertise for home title protection. I myself have heard some of these ads, and wondered if such protection is necessary.
While I think all of us have had a credit card number stolen or have been a victim of identity theft, I have yet to know of a single person who has been a victim of home title fraud. Having been in the mortgage business in the past, I don't really see how such fraud could happen.
So I have two questions. Does anyone here know of anyone that has been a victim of phone title fraud?
2 and more importantly, is this something that is even necessary to get? And if not, how do I explain to my dad in a plain and simple way so that he understands it's not necessary.
I'm inclined to believe that this service, unlike something like LifeLock, is protection against a crime that doesn't really happen.
