So, my spawn (16 year old girl) is on a club volleyball team. I know, mistake number one. Anyway, the team moms wanted to have a team bonding Christmas party/gift exchange for the girls to include a gift of around $40 or $50. Fine, great idea. Multiple people, including us, offered their houses for said event. The mom who decided to host took it upon herself to book an Airbnb for the night in a location 40 minutes away from the closest of us as well as volunteering everyone to add another $35 to that for trucker hats for them to decorate with the obligatory "don't feel obligated to pitch in, but if you want to..." And that is followed up today by another mom soliciting donations for said activity to offset the costs of something that none of us agreed to fund. People are idiots.
