1st game in person in 2024. Sat right behind BYU bench: Report here
BYU fans are the best. Period. Not only do they show up and support, but they endure with class what no other fan base in the nation would be asked to endure. Chants of F BYU and F the Mormons specifically would not be tolerated if it was any other group. Apparently it’s ok with ASU fans who are members just like it is with our brethren up north.

Our guys body language showed immediately we didn’t come ready to play. It was visible. I told our group before kickoff we were going to spot ASU at least 2 scores and we did 3. How does that happen in this situation with a B12 championship, playoff berth and history on the line…Inexcusable! Truthfully, I would expect a head coach to take responsibility for it, and address it. I think he owes that to the fans who endure the garbage they do and give the support they do. Even more importantly he needs to figure it out for the program!

I love Jake’s attitude. I think he works hard. But he is, well, not very impressive. Seeing in person is more telling. He had multiple opportunities for some big plays but missed them. There were several times ASU coverage lost guys. Jake doesn’t scan the field well. He locks on and missed some big plays. I doubt he targets beyond his 2nd read very often.

BYU O line did a good job in pass protect, but didn’t get much run push. And we need an RB1. Our RB1 would be 2-3 at most B12 schools. People may not want to hear that, but if we want to compete at the top in the B12, and run the kind of offense Kalani and ARod want to run with the QBs we currently have, we need to get better RBs. If you disagree, ask yourself which schools would have our guy at RB1.

Imagine this team without JHill. The progress we have made as a program are because of JHill and the defensive staff and organization he brings. Our guys up front play physical. We lose JHill and I would expect us to devolve back to typical Kalani mediocrity.

We are watching another November fade and loss of urgency just at a critical time for the program.
