I would tell you that fans changed college football. People willing to pay more and more money to see their team and
to see their team win.

From there it was simply a matter of schools and conferences following that money.

Then players found out they should be getting some of that money and that changed that. But the true starter of it all was the fans shelling out big money (I mean I guess you could say it was originally the teams who made the fans want to shell out money but fans is as far as I want to go).
