He knows UCLA has been far past its glory days for a long time. He's a realist about where they are.
But at least in the PAC, they had the dream of winning it every few season (even thought that didn't happen either). He knows they will now be like Nebraska and never win the B1G, especially with the added travel and difficulty of the away schedule. Said most of his buddies feel the same way. They had to do it because the PAC was going away and they were grateful to have a seat at the table, but they can't compete.
Oklahoma has been a lot more relevant the last decade, but they're headed for the same fate.
