Cross Country/Track scholarship questions for those that know. I have a kid who
is being recruited by a couple of universities in Utah to run Track/Cross Country. We've gone on one visit and have another lined up this week. The first coach indicated that they would like my kid to make a decision on a school by the 13th of November so they could announce the signing with the rest of their class. However, I know there are athletes that sign in the spring rather than signing in the fall. My kid is struggling to make a decision and I'm wondering if it would be possible to wait and declare in the spring.

Are there ramifications to waiting to sign until spring? Could an athlete potentially lose out on a scholarship opportunity if they don't sign in the fall? Does they recent decision to limit rosters sizes play into this? How would you handle this situation with the coaches. I'd love any advice from those who have gone through this before or who have a knowledge of how this process works.

I know we could ask the coaches but am concerned about sounding wishy-washy.
