I had serious doubts about Ludwig willingly quitting when 1st hearing.
Listening to Utah sports radio today, Kyle's press conference, thinking more... I think Lud did just quit.

1. Lud is close to retirement.
2. Dealing with NIL is hard on old school coaches
3. Kyle's mess of the Cam situation year after year making Lud's job incredibly hard
4. Protect the Defense as a top team rule. Offense nowhere to be found.
5. Kyle and Lud have worked together many times over decades back to soon after they both graduated before becoming Utes
6. A mid-season firing makes Kyle's job hard. Kyle has fired many, many OCs, but none mid-season. Lud has many recent good years at Utah, better than any other OC. Kyle has taken away play calling from OCs in the past, but not fired them mid-season

I think Lud quit. Quitting a week or 2 later would have been better for BYU, but this should really help BYU. The Utah offense will have another layer of chaos.
