Arod was a bargain rate OC hired when BYU didn’t have P4-tier budget… that’s all he is, with all due respect.
He might be an OK play caller (…jury still out), but that is just a portion of his responsibilities as OC. And what he’s terrible at, is recruiting. He’s not engaging and seems very cold and closed off in all his public facing interviews, and then whiffing on pretty much any and everyone that has an on par offer head to head, only picking up low to mid level 3* guys. I could only imagine how awkward some of his conversations would be with these top tier recruits he attempts to bring to Provo.
You can be in the “give him more time” camp if you want, but if you want to see the offense transform as radically as the defense has over the past 17 games, it’s time to part ways, no matter how well the team ends up doing this season…
