on Copa Airlines that have to be used soon or they expire. The nearest place to me that Copa flies out of is Las Vegas (which is relatively close anyway). The rub is that Copa flights originating in Las Vegas don't go anywhere without at least a quick layover in Panama. So I can't, for example, go from Las Vegas to Mexico. It would have to be Las Vegas to Panama and back to Mexico. Which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

I'll be going with an adult son and we both speak Spanish. If we decide to only fly to Panama, the vouchers will pretty much cover the round trip for both of us. We could continue on to South America or go somewhere else in Central America. I've been to Costa Rica earlier this year. Loved it, but maybe wanting to go somewhere different. He and I have both lived in Chile (him for his mission and me for a semester abroad). My mission was in Argentina. He doesn't really care if he goes back to Chile. I don't want to go to Argentina with this son. When I go to Argentina again, if I take a kid with me, I'll take my other son that also served in Argentina.

The goal is to be gone about a week in November. I prefer Spanish speaking countries if all else is equal. Is there enough to do in Panama to make it enjoyable for a week? Are there other places you would recommend instead? What say ye, world travelers of CB? Where would you recommend and why?
