It almost feels like the message lately has been “if he doesn’t turn it over as much, we’ll win a lot of games”. That’s obviously not wrong (for any team), last game was a perfect example of that. But I’d like to think that a starting BYU quarterback is more than a game manager…it kind of feels that way to me anyways. Am I the only one that isn’t confident that if he needed to push the ball down field (80+ yards) against solid B12 teams in the final minute, he could do it? He seems to throw quite a few balls at receiver’s feet, and he’s widely missed on a couple opportunities in the endzone…Austin Collie has called that out a couple of times. And if game management ends up being more his role, I would like to see him run it 8+ times a game. He does seem to make things happen when he get’s outside the pocket.
