Before I begin, nice win yesterday. LES is a very difficult place to play.
Now... BYU has to hang on to Jay Hill. We all know that is true, but there is a bit of a catch 22. If Jay Hill continues to perform well, Kalani keeps his job, and Jay Hill will be highly sought after by bigger programs. I doubt BYU would just fire Kalani and promote Hill to HC when the team is performing well. So how does this work? Here is what I propose:
Jay Hill goes to be DC at Utah when Whitt retires and Scalley takes his place. Now, before you ask, "why would Hill make a lateral move?" Its because he can't get the BYU job if Kalani keeps performing well. As long as he is at BYU, his fate is tied with Kalani's... so he has to move on temporarily. So... Within 3-4 years Kalani has ruined all of the momentum Jay Hill built up while at BYU. Kalani is shown the door, and BYU hires hill as the HC.
What do you all say to that?
