I’m in my mid 40s & have been lifting weights for about 3 weeks. What should I
expect in terms of body changes in the near future? I’m working out 4 days a week (M,T,TH,F) for 45 minutes. My workout is essentially CrossFit light. It’s CrossFit stuff in a class at the local rec center, but not an actual CrossFit gym. I’m Running 1.5 miles on Wednesday. I was basically sedentary before I started.

Here’s where I started and what’s happened so far:

- started at weight of 223, height 6 ft.
- weight down to 221. I expected more for how much I’ve been working out. I’ve improved my eating; around 2500 calories and cleaner, but not totally avoiding sweets. No soda.
- I’m definitely seeing fat decrease around my gut, thighs, etc. I’m hoping I’ve lost fat but gained muscle, so that’s why the weight loss isn’t much yet.

For those who have been on this journey, any recommended changes? I’m looking to gain lean muscle and lose weight. I’m not trying to bulk at all.

Should I decrease calories to 2,000-ish? Should I be more strict on sweets? Am I likely going to start losing weight faster if I stay the course?

Thanks for any insight.
