Gustav Intervention Needed
Has anyone ever seen an HOA buy license plate scanners?
Saw people complaining about porch pirates and wondered if there are any HOAs that have bought license plate scanners for development entrances so they can ID crooks (assuming they don't cover their plates, anyway). I see lots of ring, etc., videos and pics of crooks, but if you could narrow down to an actual plate number, the cops could actually nab them.

Looks like scanners are illegal in some states, but some don't regulate them at all. I assume some HOA has tried it. I wonder how effective they are. Seems demand would only go up as porch pirates become more pervasive. Again, assuming they're not all removing or covering their plates, but it doesn't seem like they are.
