In ARod's four years as the BYU OC, BYU TEs are accounting for 14.5% of BYU's passing yards, pretty much exactly at the 2024 Big 12 average.

If you compare that to the three years that Jeff Grimes was our OC, TE usage is down. However, I think a lot of that can be attributed to Matt Bushman being awesome, and BYU's WRs being worse under Grimes than ARod.

It's also worth pointing out that while ARod wasn't the OC from 2018-2020, he obviously had a role in the offense.
My conclusion: BYU's 2024 TE usage was quite a bit level than that of our peers, but TE usage under ARod is at worst average compared to other Big 12 teams. If someone wants to argue that we don't use our TEs enough, that is obviously something I can't really argue against with data. BYU isn't Utah with our TE usage, but we also definitely aren't Colorado either.
