DUI. In regard to Utah, we have some of the stiffest laws on the books
But the laws do no good when people ignore them. Even repeat offenders can get around ignition interlock devices or use someone else’s car.

It’s about $10k for your first DUI

My son is UHP in Utah County. He leads UHP for regular troopers (UHP has a DUI squad and all they do is patrol the bars and downtown on the weekends for drunks) for DUI arrests. He said it is sad bc many of the people he arrests are repeat offenders.

He is amazed at how some of them have been able to get their driving privileges restored so quickly.

I don’t know how you stop them other than put ignition devices on every car made
