For College Basketball, the NCAA tournament selection committee are provided with "resume rankings" which are basically strength of record types of rank, but are also provided with "quality rankings" which don't factor in W/L record but simply look at things like efficiency and MOV types of numbers. Both are factored in to their decision making, but the resume ranks typically have a much stronger correlation to eventual seeding.
The CFB Playoff committee doesn't have any such compilation of rankings provided to them as far as I'm aware, but I decided to create my own composite of "resume ranks" and "quality ranks" along w/ an overall weighted average that gives added weight to the resume ranks as I feel like that is what constitutes the teams that would be most deserving of the playoff". Resume ranks included are Massey BCS, Wolfe, Billingsly, Colley, and ESPN SOR (basically the 4 rankings still left over from the BCS era but w/ SOR added in as well). Quality ranks included are Massey, Sagarin, SP+, FEI, and FPI as I feel like those are generally the more well known and/or highly regarded quality ranks out there.
